Smile, You're An Orange

Of my six things to do this Spring, I wanted to try orange lipstick the most. It's not as daring as going streaking but it's something new to add to my small collection of arsenal. I am no stranger to bold colors though, for I've worn almost every shade known to man from midnight black to royal blue. Orange however, never seemed to spark my interest like a lame television show you skip until something else worth watching comes on. After putting on my face for work a few days ago, I realized  how bored I've become from recycling the same colors over and over. It was time  I conquered unmarked territory. Cult indie cosmetic company Lime Crime has assisted me in doing so.
Let me start off by saying the packaging is marvelous. Lime Crime's cheery fairy-tale inspired boxes with Unicorns and bows are a total acid trip. Thankfully, the actual products are just as pretty *phew*
The lipstick I received is 'My Beautiful Rocket' which is an opaque tropical orange. One swipe and my lips were bursting with color....no really, it is that bright. With my banging tan and all I felt like a Caribbean scene queen.
To dress up my lids I slapped on 'Candy Eyes' eye shadow primer and 'Magic Dust' eye shadow in 'Diva' which is a shimmery bronze. With my deep complexion it was nearly impossible to see the shadow, only bits of glitter.
My final conclusion is I love LC. They are vegan, carry odd colors that most companies don't and have exceptional presentation. Sure it costs $16 for one flipping tube of lippie but guess what, the best things in life are free and the second best are a little costly. So I say as a gal who can be extremely stingy with her money to go ahead and splurge this one time. Would I steer you wrong? Purchase or admire at Limecrimemakeup.com.

Actually, they ARE vegan. The eyeshadow helper does use beeswax but their other products do not.
